The Department of Human Services and Counseling at Metropolitan StateUniversity of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-timeaffiliate faculty teaching positions. The department offers two majors: Fireand Emergency Response Administration and Human Services; a concentration inAddiction Studies; and areas of focus in trauma and high risk youth.

Responsibilities
An affiliate faculty member's duties include but are not limited to:teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content tostudents, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading studentwork, providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner,addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school,and department policies, and providing online or in person academic supportto students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment; providinginstruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learningobjectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, withdepartment course coordination policies; maintaining office hours; andcomplying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies andpeer observation policies.Applicants may be asked to teach in-person,online, or in hybrid capacities dependent upon course needs. The ability toadapt and learn new modes of instruction is highly encouraged. Candidates needto be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work,Sociology, Psychology, Education, Gerontology, Rehabilitation,Women's Studies, Communication, Nonprofit Studies, Behavior Science orrelated field; or tested experience (FERA)
Preferred QualificationsExperience in the fieldTeaching experience or experience presenting or facilitating educationalactivitiesExperience working with diverse populationsLAC and State approval required for certain addiction studies classes
Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a percredit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semesterbasis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under theUniversity's benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent onbudget and enrollment.
Salary for Announcement
The final salary is based on the number of credit hours as igned at a ratedetermined by university policy.
