Democracy International (DI) seeks an undergraduate/graduate student for a full-time, eight-week, paid ($17/Hour),Human Resources internship. We are seeking a self-motivated individual that is passionate and curious about Human Resources. The Human Resources Intern will be primarily responsible for providing administrative support in our Bethesda office and will be exposed to the core processes and oversight of Human Resources in general.We will only consider applicants who are based in the DMV area and willing to work a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.
Essential Job Duties:
Provide support to our home office Administration and Operations TeamMaintain HR and operations files on DI shared drive. Lead the scanning and transfer of files into the shared drive and ensure standard file naming across teamParticipate in the onboarding/off boarding and orientation process for home office employeesSupport DI recruitment and interview processContribute to development and implementation of staff learning opportunitiesSupport the maintenance of HR policies and manualsChampion on-going projects through research and collecting data. E.g. carry out research on HR laws, benefits and allowances for DI staff and other related topics as required.Support the creation of HR templates in OutlawSupport the organization of company training, professional development, and morale activities, including retreats, etc.Carry out other assigned duties.Qualifications:
Actively enrolled in a Human resource, Economics, Business degree program preferredCoursework/demonstrated interest in Human ResourcesAvailability to work 30-40 hours per week for 8 weeksStrong organizational and writing skillsEfficiency and attention to detailAbility to work in a small office with other staff members on multiple, simultaneous projectsComputer skills, including Word and ExcelAbility to execute on simultaneous projects with a sense of urgency and ease.Reporting:
