  RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Maintains positive employee relations with all employees through effective administration of company policies and the collective bargaining agreement (union environment).

  Advises and guides management in the effective utilization of human resources.

  Holds responsibility for decision making with respect to terminations and performance counseling to assure consistent enforcement of policies and procedures as not to violate any state or federal law.

  Is responsible for the effective administration of all company benefit plans.

  Coordinates and leads employee training curriculum.

  Maintains the plant's affirmative action program.

  Oversees development of the Safety and Security Programs to meet OSHA and corporate requirements, to assure safe and healthy working conditions, and reduce frequency of accidents.

  Manages workers' compensation and non-work related disability programs that control costs and ensure quality care for employees through coordination with the medical community.

  Maintains the Human Resources Information System to ensure it accurately reflects human resource and payroll information.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  Required

  A bachelor's degree or equivalent employee relations experience.

  Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in Human Resource Management or Generalist role.

  A strong pattern of initiative, achievement, and leadership.

  Proven problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills.

  Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

  Experience in a manufacturing/processing environment.

  Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

  Benefits: Hormel Foods offers an excellent benefits package, including competitive base salaries plus yearly target incentive, an annual merit increase performance review, medical, dental, vision, profit sharing, 401(k), stock purchase plan, relocation Assistance Program to eligible applicants, FREE two-year community/technical college tuition for children of employees, and more.

  The base pay range is $84,000 to $115,000 per year; however, actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
