What this job involves - We are currently seeking an HSSE Environmental Compliance Specialist to join one of our Work Dynamics Account teams. The HSSE Environmental Specialist position is a key member of the Account Team that supports environmental needs for managing environment related management services. This position will also assist the HSSE Manager in overall Safety Culture growth. This position has the option of being hybrid, however there will be some travel requirements (primarily to the Eagan, MN client facilities - est. 10-20% travel). It is a JLL and client preference that this individual has a comprehensive knowledge of federal, state (Minnesota), local (Twin Cities) environmental requirements and compliance practices. Develop, implement, monitor, modify, and document environmental compliance programs including but not limited to: Solid & Hazardous Wastes, DOT Hazmat, Water Quality, Air Quality, RICE NESHAP, Community Right-to-Know, Pollution Prevention, and applicable Employee Training. Prepare or oversee the preparation of environmental reports, permit applications and other submittals as required by law. Serve as the focal point for all environmental inspections by regulatory authorities. Monitor and ensure all applicable Environment permits/certificates/licenses/approvals are valid, current, and in place. Manage, supervise, and direct non-recurring environmental issues and projects as they arise, including all related regulatory requirements. Ensure that incidents, injuries, spills or releases, good catch/near miss, and other events are captured, and the data is managed and reported per JLL and client requirements. Assist the other members of the HSSE Team to provide support to other sites as appropriate. Oversee and work with the JLL Hazardous Waste Technician on hazardous / regulated waste storage, disposal, and transportation compliance issues, ensure that applicable environmental requirements are adhered to. Become the primary point of contact for Environmental requirements and activities for the account. Communicate HSSE needs and results to the Account Leadership and client Team. Maintain documentation describing the HSSE program (playbooks, procedures, etc.) and records required by JLL, regulation, and the client. Play a lead role in the continued development and refinement of JLL's HSE culture and training programs on the account. Prepare / Update all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements on HSSE aspects and activities to the client. Provide review and feedback on performance. Desired experience and technical skills Required: 8-10 years of proven history of implementation of environmental, health, and safety systems and processes Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state (Minnesota), local (Twin Cities) environmental requirements and compliance practices. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to deal with all people at all organizational levels, internally and externally. Knowledge of technology tools such as Word, Power Point, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Forms, etc, (pivot tables a positive). Preferred: Bachelor's degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, chemical, environmental engineering, or relevant field. Good English writing and speaking capability (ability to speak Spanish also a major positive).
