This job was posted by https://www.azjobconnection.gov : For moreinformation, please see: https://www.azjobconnection.gov/jobs/6306527Description: Performs paraprofessional journey level work involvedin the compilation and investigation of information for thedetermination of eligibility for housing assistance in accordance withlocal, state and federal program regulations and procedures forparticipation in County, State and Federal housing assistance programsand coordinating the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8(Rental Assistance) and the Homebuyers Assistance Programs in MohaveCounty.Interviews applicants or designated representatives to obtainappropriate information and in the compilation of required forms inaccordance with established procedures and regulations for Section 8rental assistance, Homebuyers Assistance or other related low incomehousing programs.
Investigates information received through verification of sources bymail, phone and in person to verify residency, household compositionsand financial eligibility requirements collected from applicants andrepresentatives. Prepares correspondence letters/forms to extract andverify information collected. Prepares confirmation letters of phoneinvestigations.
Completes and calculates eligibility determination and assistance basedupon findings of investigation in accordance with established programregulations, procedures and time frames. Advises and notifies applicantsand representatives of case status. Notifies applicants andrepresentatives of decisions, appeal rights, ability to reapply forhousing benefits. Informs eligible applicants of housing benefits andprocedures available through local, State, and Federal housingassistance programs.
Investigates inconsistent information provided by applicant to determinecontinued eligibility for housing assistance programs.
Identifies and refers suspected cases of fraud to supervisor.
Conducts initial inspections, annual inspections and reinspections asassigned using specified forms and procedural guidelines to determine ifrental units meet Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and related HUDrequirements. Enforces HUD safety and sanitation regulations.REQUIREDEXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate and at least two (2) or moreyears progressively responsible experience involved in the provision ofhousing assistance or in programs providing services to low incomeindividuals and included interviewing, investigating and public contactwork relating to the collection of financial status information anddetermination of eligibility for Local, State or Federal mandatedprogram. OR an equivalent combination of experience, education andtraining which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities
