The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Housing Specialist. This position is within the Local Government Services Department. The Housing Specialist manages specific projects and research of the Regional Housing Partnership and works across MARC departments on items related to housing.

Exercises exceptional project management skills, including planning and adhering to a schedule of incremental milestones to accomplish project goals.Researches and analyzes trends in housing keeping the Housing Program Manager apprised of best practices.Evaluates the effectiveness of the Regional Housing Locator tool on behalf of the regional housing locator advisory group.Works with the Research Services Department on research topics and their relevance to the housing data hub.Stakeholder and Committee Management
Makes presentations to stakeholder groups and MARC committees, as needed.Attends Sustainable Places Policy Committee, Planners Round Table, Communities for All Ages and other relevant MARC committee meetings to gauge the overlap on housing topics to better coordinate housing work across MARC departments.Assists in identifying and recruiting diverse stakeholders from various disciplines (i.e. community-based organizations, neighborhoods, developers, financial sector, homebuilding, etc.) to form an advisory steering committee for the housing partnership.Establish and manage the housing locator advisory group including setting the agenda, preparing reports, minutes and logistics.Grant Management
Plans, coordinates, and executes the delivery of Regional Housing Partnership grants and program deliverables.Identifies, applies for, and assists in administering private, local, state, and federal grants.Financial Management
Prepares annual budgets, forecasting expenditures and needed revenue to recover direct and indirect costs associated with the Regional Housing Partnership.Marketing
Works with public affairs staff as needed to market housing initiatives to stakeholders including a quarterly housing newsletter.Other
Travel required for regional meetings.
