Housing Case ManagerSupervised by:Director of Programs
General Description:The Housing Case Manager is responsible formaintaining a caseload of clients working towards housing, and housingstability. Case management is specifically focused on housingmaintenance and stability: paying rent, interacting positively withlandlords and neighbors, managing behaviors that may accompany mentalillness or substance use so that they dont interfere with success inhousing, developing crisis plans, connecting with appropriate communityresources, and supporting clients individual housing goals. Bachelorsdegree is preferred for the Housing Case Manager position. Relevantexperience working with people experiencing homelessness is mandatory. AMasters in Social Work or related field a plus. This is a Full TimeExempt position and salary is based on experience and education. FSS isan EOE.

The Housing Case Manager is responsible for the following objectives:
Teamwork:By effectively communicating with other staff members,the housing case manager will foster a positive environment withother staff members and clients.Public Interaction:Will interact with outside resources,partners, clients and the public from time to time. All interactionwith these groups will be professional, keeping the best interest ofthe shelter in mind.Service:Will provide quality service and supportive interactionto all clients and team members with compassionate and in aprofessional manner without regard to racial, ethnic, or socialprejudices.Client Management:Create a safe and supportive environment foreveryoneCleanliness:Maintains a clean work environment. Follows the newcleaning standards listed below following the outbreak of the CovidVirus.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs case work duties and does related work as required thatsupports the mission of Flagstaff Shelter Services.Conduct Housing Barrier Assessment and Intake with clients oncereferred from coordinated assessment or walk ins.Input and maintain client information in Homeless ManagementInformation System (HMIS) and ensures reporting requirement areaccurate.Meets regularly with clients to implement housing plan, help clientsstabilize in housing of their own.Develop alongside client life plan goals. Encourage progress towardsthese goals by developing budget, employability, family supports,counseling, and other community resource referral as quickly aspossible.Maintains relationships with landlords and community resources toconnect clients with housing opportunity.Works cooperatively with support staff to gather ongoingverification from clients (i.e. schedules, income verification).Performs crisis intervention and counseling as needed.Responsible for programming for community clients and shelteredclients.Represents FSS in the community as needed.Performs related work as assigned by the Executive Director.Participate in monthly staff meetings as appropriate.Education, Experience, & Qualifications
High school education, GED or the equivalent.2 years of experience working in a human services field required orequivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.General knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).Experienced in data entry.Strong written and verbal communication skillsPhysical Demands & Work Environment
Must be able to walk around the property.Perform light lifting (25 lbs.)Work is performed in a shelter, office, and outdoor environment.Frequent bending, reaching, squa ting and kneeling may be requiredwhile performing job function.Shifts may require long periods of standing and walking.There may be exposure to cleaning agents and allergens.Coordinators may be subject to loud/frequent noiseJob Type:Full-time
