Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose:

　　Summary:  Perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain establishments, such as hotels, restaurants, and hospitals, in a clean and orderly manner. Duties include making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and halls, and vacuuming. Contribute to the team efforts and showing good customer interactions, and professionalism for customers, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact with .

　　Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one on one attention to the detail.

　　Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors

　　Vacuum clean carpets, rugs and draperies

　　Shampoo carpets, rugs and upholstery

　　Dust and polish furniture and fittings

　　Clean metal fixtures and fittings

　　Empty and clean trash containers

　　Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner

　　Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers

　　Wipe down glass surfaces

　　Make up beds and change linens as required

　　Realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout

　　Respond to guest queries and requests

　　Respond to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses

　　Other duties may be assigned.

　　Education and Experience:   Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

　　Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

　　Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide the 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

　　Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

　　Other Qualifications: Demonstrate safe and correct use of environmental services equipment and chemicals used daily within the department

　　Physical Demands:   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus . 

　　Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions; frequently exposed to vibration; occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; works near moving mechanical parts; works in high precarious places. While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is moderate
