JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SPECIFICS Title: Housekeeper/Custodian FTE:1.0 FTE (80 hours/week) Schedule: 2:00pm to 10:30pm Holiday Rotation:1-2 holidays per year Weekend Rotation: Every other Sunday POSITIONSUMMARY Responsible for the cleanliness and servicing of an assignedarea, care and cleaning of equipment along with the stocking ofsupplies. Applies safety procedures and precautions as appropriate inclinical setting and with material handling and disposal. Workscollectively within the department to ensure that the facility is cleanand safe for visitors, patients and staff. POSITION TECHNICALRESPONSIBILITIES 1. Perform various cleaning tasks in assigned area ofthe Hospital or Clinics. Tasks include disinfecting, mopping, sweeping,vacuuming, removing garbage and hazardous waste, clean furniture,windows, stairs, doors, bathrooms, and remove soiled linens. 2. Crosstrain to work in all areas of the Hospital and Clinics. 3. Performperiodic jobs such as wall washing, drapery/curtain washing, vents,blinds, etc. 4. Clean and disinfect technical equipment in surgery,clean surgery lights, remove needle boxes, and dispose of hazardouswaste in receptacles. 5. Be a runner during emergencies. 6. Clean upunexpected accidents, spills, blood, and body wastes. 7. Deliver andstock linen, gloves, needle boxes to Hospital departments and send sameas needed to Clinics. 8. Operate floor cleaning machine, buffers,wet/dry vacuum, etc. 9. Be aware of Material Safety Data Sheetsinformation for all Housekeeping areas. 10. Know all safety codes, i.e.fire, tornado, disaster, blackout, security breach, etc. 11. Beknowledgeable of all chemicals, disinfectants, equipment, supplies andthe appropriate use in all areas of the hospital and clinics.
