　　Job Objectives: This job requires performance of tasks related to operating an asphalt hot plant in the production of hot mix.

　　Essential Job Functions:

　　Operate hot plant in production of asphalt hot mix.

　　Track raw material to ensure sufficient quantity on hand at all times for hot mix production.

　　Troubleshoot hot plant problems and assist in maintenance/problem solving to ensure plant operates effectively and efficiently.

　　Accept direction from supervisor.

　　Run equipment as necessary.

　　Follow all safety guidelines at all times.

　　Fill out and sign time cards daily.

　　Perform any other functions deemed necessary by your supervisor.

　　Critical Demands:

　　Occasionally: An activity or condition existing up to 1/3 of the time; Frequently: An activity or condition existing form 1/3 to 2/3 of the time; Continuous: An activity or condition existing 2/3 or more of the time. (Dictionary of Occupational Titles)

　　Standing: Continuous. Requires the ability to stand on various types of surfaces and terrain.

　　Walking: Continuous. Requires the ability to walk on various types of surfaces and terrain.

　　Lifting/Carrying: Occasional. This position is classified as "Light Work". This requires the ability to "exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently."

　　Climbing: Occasional. Ability to climb on and off heavy equipment in awkward positions.

　　Balance: Continuous. Requires the ability balance self while climbing.

　　Reaching: Continuous. Requires the ability to utilize reaching motion.

　　Vision: Continuous. Requires the ability for environmental awareness at construction site as well as good depth perception to accurately determine if surfaces are level.

　　Climate: Occasional. Requires the ability to tolerate extreme temperatures.

　　Clothing provided by employee: steel toe boots.

　　Safety equipment provided by employer: safety vest, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses.

　　Knowledge of hot plant and its operation in production of hot mix.

　　Basic reading (ability to understand written safety regulations).
