Position Purpose
Following prescribed procedures, assists in processing physician prescriptions to ensure medications are promptly, accurately, and safely filled. Prepares various medications and assists supervising pharmacist. Assists with patient questions and service. Maintains records related to drug use and charges.
What you will do
Utilize pharmacy computer system and be responsible for inputting, retrieving and analyzing data in that system
Prepare prescriptions under the supervision of registered pharmacist
Prepare and prioritize prescriptions according to need
Proper cash handling and cash control as well as completing day-to-day retail transactions in a friendly and efficient manner
Track inventory and assist with ordering on a daily basis
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
Current state (CT) registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required
Previous experience strongly preferred
National PTCB certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
