Responsibilities Job Summary The Home Health Aide is a person who provides support, assistance with personal hygiene and household functions for an individual to be able to remain in their own home. Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities Reports observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager. Notifies the Agency Director immediately if any incidents or accidents occur. Drives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt when business travel is required. May provide or assist clients with activities of daily living including: bathing in bed, tub or shower; care of hair including shampoo, combing and brushing; care of teeth and mouth including denture care; nail care, filing only; skin care including pericare and applying lotion; transfer of patient from bed to chair and to wheelchair. Transfer of patients on and off bedpan, commode and toilet. Assists with household tasks directly essential to client's personal care. Education and Experience Requirements Successful completion of a competency evaluation. Current CPR certification required. Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation. Must be mature and able to deal effectively with the demands of a home health aide position. Able to read, write, and carry out directions promptly and accurately. State Specific Requirements IL: Must be licensed, registered or certified as a Home Health Aide or approved on the Department's Health Care Worker Registry or completion of training program approved under Long Term Care Assistants and Aides Training Programs Code or equivalency established by 1 of the following: evidence of current registration from another state, evidence of completion of a nursing arts course, successful completion of US military training program, or successful completion of a nursing program in a foreign country.
