Responsibilities
The Pharmacy Member Services Representative performs a wide range of duties to support members regarding plan questions and mail-order pharmacy requirements. This position works directly with patients and is required to understand multiple aspects of the facility and its processes to ensure accurate information and provide exceptional service to members.
Patient outreach and education, extensive data entry, compiling, reconciling and maintaining records
Review all incoming faxes through pharmacy software and logs according to pharmacy guidelines; assuring that all member information is logged accurately
Review all second refill attempt requests against pharmacy software in a timely manner to determine appropriate prescription follow up; faxing physician a second time or reaching out to the member
Assure all requests and payments are complete, address and shipping methods are applied prior to print/processing prescriptions
Follow up with member regarding any denied refill request, no responses to the fax, or if clarification is needed for physician information in a timely manner
Maintaining effective records, deleting any old notes that are no longer needed and adding new relevant information to the patient's profile to be communicated to the staff as necessary
Requirements:
High School diploma
2 years previous customer service experience, preferably in mail-order, medical, or healthcare
Dress Code: Black or Royal Blue scrubs
