Actalent is hiring Technologists and Technicians for a growing laboratory on Long Island! Permanent Placement

　　RECENT GRADUATES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY

　　Day to day: Individual will be cutting, staining, mounting, and studying specimens of human tissue to provide data on functions of tissues and organs, cause, or progress on diseases, and following standards and practices.

　　Pay Rates:

　　Technologists: $42 - $50 an hour depending on experience

　　Technicians: $35 - $40 an hour depending on experience

　　Job Description:

　　Conducts quality control and instrument check procedures, documenting all related records.

　　Prepares and manages paraffin, reagents, and solutions based on standard formulas.

　　Processes human tissue specimens by cutting, staining, and mounting.

　　Expeditiously handles stat specimens.

　　Engages in the department's QA/PI program, enhancing performance through QI activities.

　　Participates in Strategic Improvement Process activities and committee memberships as appropriate.

　　Collaborates with peers, physicians, and healthcare team members.

　　Assumes the role of Clinical Supervisor when needed.

　　Manages equipment and supplies, ordering when low or near expiration.

　　Performs preventive maintenance on image analyzer and slide maker, ensuring no use of expired reagents.

　　Maintains ongoing records, files, and reports, contributing to test script development and system testing.

　　Prepares required written documentation for professional and departmental purposes.

　　Qualifications:

　　NY State license – Either NYS Technician or Technologist
