　　We are seeking Histology Professionals to join the LabCorp team where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical laboratory services. Come work in our Pathology laboratory located in San Diego, CA alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Our services are performed with the utmost care, expertise, integrity and respect for the patient. Our laboratory in San Diego focuses on a variety of specimens, including dermatology, GI, GYN, colon, gall bladder, and more.

　　The schedule for this position will be: Sunday- Thursday 11:30am-8:00pm with flexible hours on Sunday only.

　　Job Responsibilities:

　　Process human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic examPerform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimensSection the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slidePerform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sectionsProcess mounted sections through routine and special staining proceduresProperly orient and embed surgical tissue specimensPrepare the stains and reagents needed for special proceduresReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient careOperate and maintain manual and automated instrumentsPerform and document equipment maintenance as neededRecord equipment log data in an accurate and timely mannerPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresAdhere to the laboratory's quality control policiesFollow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reportingDocument problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions when needed

　　Job Requirements:

　　Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Life Science and meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirementsMinimum 3 years experience working in a histology lab requiredASCP Histology certification or other relevant Histology certifications preferredFamiliarity with routine histology procedures and equipmentAbility to accurately read all labels and documentsHighly organized with a strong attention to detailMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

　　Pay Range: $35-38/hr plus 10% shift differential
