JOB SUMMARY: AMPI is immediately hiring for Production Workers. The Heavy Production Operator is responsible for handling and preparation of purchased bulk for product processing; operating equipment during production and sanitation processes, ensuring both product integrity and quality. This position will work as a team member with all levels of the organization to maintain programs and standards that increase the efficiency of product usage; support the reduction of damaged product and waste, ensuring compliance with all company rules and regulations. Supply micro fixes with sufficient product to ensure hopper levels are maintained. Operate packaging equipment efficiently and safely. Monitors procedures and working conditions that could result in product contamination or excessive waste. Communicates effectively with plant personnel. Verify quality control items such as product weights, coding, uniformity, and packaging. Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping. Operate various machines at an efficient level to fulfill plant demands. Assist with sanitation and housekeeping throughout the plant as needed. Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation, and site policies. Assists with training new employees. Aids the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity. Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity. Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity. All other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Food manufacturing, material handling and forklift operation experience preferred. Prior experience in the dairy or cheese industry is preferred. Prior experience in manufacturing is a plus. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP's, OSHA and loss control programs is highly desirable.
