DOE.Amount of Travel Required: NonePositions Supervised: NoneWork Schedule:Monday through Friday and some Saturdays 7:00am to 5:30pm but hours willvary depending on work load.

  POSITION SUMMARYDiagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul vehicles and machinery, such assemi-tractors, scrapers, excavators and other heavy equipment in the shop.

  Essential Functions Statement(s)Record details of repairs made and parts used.Reassemble vehicles and equipment following repair, testing operation andmaking adjustments as necessary.Maintain, repair, and overhaul heavy machinery and vehicles, such ashaul trucks, semi-tractors, loaders, scrapers, and hydraulic systems.Dismantle defective vehicles for repair, using personal hand tools.Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters,soldering equipment, and hand tools.Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, weldingequipment, grinders, or saws.Clean and lubricate parts.Tune or overhaul engines, ability to order and source parts from variousmanufactures.Use an android tablet and or laptop to make a record of repairs made,labor time, and parts used.Diagnose, repair or replace hydraulic systems and or components.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSCompetency Statement(s)Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affectemployee safety.Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve aproblem.Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactivelywith work-related problems.Systems Analysis - Ability to determine how a system should work and howchanges in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.Deductive Reasoning - Ability to apply principles of logical or scientificthinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively and clearly withothers using the spoken word.Organized - Possessing the trait of being organized or following asystematic method of performing a task.Self Motivated - Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to thebest of ones ability using his or her own drive or initiative.Communication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly andconcisely.Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible inthe workplace.Responsible - Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one'sconduct.Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of aproject or task.Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/heractions.Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.Reliability - The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.Reasonable Accommodations StatementTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able toperform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential functionsatisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualifiedindividuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.SKILLS & ABILITIESEducation:High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): RequiredAssociate's Degree (two year college or technical school) or WorkEquivalent, Field of Study: Diesel Mechanics (not required)Experience:5 plus years of experience in heavy equipment repair.Computer Skills:Must be familiar with Microsoft office, scheduling software andstandard functions of transferring, saving and imputing of data on acomputer. Must be able to operate an android smart phone or tablet.

  Certifications &Licenses:Certificate related to diesel mechanical repair or 5 years ofverifiable job experience.

  Other Requirements:C ean Driving record and the ability to pass a backgroundinvestigation, and drug screening.
