  The Position

  Within Field Medical Affairs (FMA), this position has primary responsibility for clinical HEOR and Value Communication engagement efforts with existing medical customers who specialize in HEOR, population health decision makers in priority accounts, who are using HEOR information and analytics to drive decisions on a system level, HEOR thought leaders embedded within existing accounts, particularly Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) and Regional Accounts, and HEOR researchers at strategically aligned Centers of Excellence (COE)s.

  Primary responsibilities of the Health Outcomes Account Director role are: Bridging the gap in stakeholder engagement with HEOR Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and Managed Markets Stakeholders, particularly in Regional Accounts and Integrated Delivery Networks. Enhancing Value Communication with existing medical customers.Champion the voice of the stakeholder through cross fuctional engagement and influence. Facilitating new Real-World Evidence (RWE) research opportunities through HEOR Partnerships. Improving HEOR training and resources across Field Medical Teams.

  Relationships

  Manages a strong network of external relationships with key HEOR thought leaders, RWE Researchers, Population Health decision makers, and Data Scientists within prioritized National and Regional Payor accounts and Health Systems. Responsible for managing multiple internal relationships (mainly Market Access, Medical Operations, HEOR and Medical Affairs).

  Serves as a HEOR subject matter expert and primary clinical point of contact for key HEOR thought leaders and influencers in aligned accounts. Position reports to Field Director, Medical Affairs, Managed Markets.

  Essential Functions

  Administrative duties:

  Provides monthly reports on scientific leadership activities to Field Director including budget expenditures as directed

  Records all activities within One Stop Shop (OSS) and all expenses within Concur in accordance with FMA procedures

  Secures and maintains effective administrative management of strategic national/regional business as well as operational and educational budgets

  Advocacy & professional relationship development:

  Acts as a scientific resource for health care providers (HCPs) and other NNI employees, as required

  Attends and presents at assigned medical and scientific meetings and symposia: a) ensures and maintains thorough knowledge of the latest and current issues and new data pertaining to NNI products; b) develops, establishes and maintains relationships with key HEOR influencers and decision makers; c) conveys appropriate use of NNI products and greater utilization of its services; d) Provides leadership and expertise in the field of HEOR to support internal training and external customer needs

  Combines account management skills, business acumen, and scientific expertise to enhance value and develop collaborative relationships

  Demonstrates confidence in managing and developing relationships over time with key customers

  Establishes and maintains relationships with key HEOR influencers and decision makers and responds to inquiries to establish and/or further the knowledge of NNI products and related topics

  Establishes the field HEOR engagement plan, in alignment with the Evidence Generation Team, through the identification and cultivation of key relationships and brings forth appropriate collaboration opportunities

  Gathers customer insight regarding Real World Evidence for NNI and competitors products to help inform medical and commercial decision making

  Maintains a thorough/advanced and detailed working knowledge of NNI, its products, current scientific research and publications associated with HEOR and RWE

  Manages, prepares and conducts HEOR discussions and presentations as needed, demonstrating an advanced level of confidence with presentation and facilitation skills to a variety of audiences

  Participates and presents in special Regional and National projects (e.g., team meetings, training, etc.)

  Understands and adheres to legal and regulatory guidelines of pharmaceutical industry

  Coordination of educational programs:

  Assists Director with planning and delivering RWE/HEOR presentations for internal meetings

  Facilitates the development of HEOR Symposia and education for health care providers on subjects relevant to NNIs products

  Demonstrated leadership:

  Actively supports Director in the development of MM strategic initiatives and team training needs

  Adapts quickly and appropriately to competing demands and shifting priorities, and helps others meet new challenges effectively

  Consistently embodies the characteristics of the NNI Leadership Competencies

  Develops individual goals that fully align with business strategies and priorities

  Leads and engages others to leverage opportunities for change to positively impact the working environment and the results achieved

  Proactively shares best practices with MM and greater FMA team

  Provides expert advice/guidance to NNI Senior Leadership in the area of Managed Markets strategy and execution, especially as they pertain to key regionall/priority MM accounts

  Provides expert support, mentorship, and/or training to regional medical liaisons, internal medical affairs personnel, and the greater field medical affairs organization in the area of Managed Markets, and Integrated Health Networks (IHNs) with respect to Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), as needed

  Serves as a mentor for new hire or more junior MM team members

  Field-based clinical support:

  Communicates HEOR and RWE Partnership strategy to NNI Senior Leadership Teams and Core Medical Teams

  Establishes and maintains relationships with key HEOR influencers and decision makers and responds to inquiries to establish and/or further the knowledge of NNI products and related topics

  Develops and presents product and advanced HEOR scientific updates for Formulary presentations upon request

  Directs and leads clinical engagement efforts on behalf of NNI at key strategic and prioritized accounts

  Drives the development and implementation of MM strategy in alignment with Medical and Brand strategy

  Manages and facilitates potential Pharmacoeconomic and Managed Care-initiated studies in the regions and refers requests for research grants from region to the appropriate in-house committees as directed

  Manages internal relationships and collaborates and partners with Marketing, MM, HEOR and other FMA teams to develop and implement RWE scientific strategies to optimize NNIs products and development activities in the medical community

  Provides advanced HEOR scientific leadership and Scientific Value Communication for marketed products and development projects within aligned accounts

  Regularly shares customer insights, evidence gaps, environmental trends, and stakeholder needs internally to influcence evidence generation and other strategic efforts

  Provides advanced scientific leadership for strategic Population Health Decision Makers and Health Economics consultants and advisory board activities

  Works collaboratively with the Senior Management of field medical affairs and CDSE/HEOR to identify, manage, and coordinate clinical HEOR support needs within aligned accounts

  Insurance Reimbursement & Coverage Projects:

  Designs, develops, and delivers advanced HEOR and scientific Value Communication to individuals and groups of strategic importance to Novo Nordisk as requested

  Develops and delivers advanced HEOR scientific information to formulary decision makers using approved materials upon request

  Strategy & protocol development:

  Develops, maintains, and executes medical account plans for assigned accounts, focusing on key HEOR and Population Health influencers

  Identifies, develops, and implements projects that align key HEOR clinical decision makers interests with those of NNI

  Physical Requirements

  50-75% overnight travel required.

  Qualifications

  Doctoral degree (e.g. PharmD, MD, PhD) with advanced professional training in HEOR/RWE required

  A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or RWE Research organization required ((internship or residency may count toward experience, and an advanced degree may be substituted for experience when appropriate), with at least 3 years work experience in a field health outcomes or liaison role, or in a HEOR position

  A strong knowledge of clinical development/operations, research conduct, and working knowledge of FDA requirements required A strong knowledge of health economics and demonstrated ability to conduct value-based discussions with key HEOR and population health customers required

  Experience in engaging HEOR experts, conducting RWE research, and utilizing modern rapid-cycle data analytic platforms strongly required

  A thorough understanding of population health, HEOR, data analytics and decision-making process across various account channels required

  Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment required

  Advanced, in-depth understanding of US healthcare system, payers, reimbursement method, integrated health systems and utilization of RWE and data analytics therein

  Demonstrated ability to consistently engage business critical MM customers and execute against challenges of a continually changing healthcare/payer landscape required

  Demonstrated excellence in leadership, strategic influencing, initiative ability, project management, internal and external relationship development, analytical/problem solving skills, and written/verbal communication skills required

  Demonstrated flexibility in technical expertise across disease areas preferred

  Experience in HEOR account engagement and RWE project management preferred

  Expert technical knowledge in HEOR and ability to develop expertise across multiple disease areas

  Knowledge of information/technology systems preferred

  Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) preferred

  Work experience in a Managed Markets setting preferred

  Clinical experience preferred

  Work experience in health economics and outcomes research preferred
