Description

Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Syracuse for profit client of his to find their next Controller. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive strategic financial decisions to support the company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP standards.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads and senior management to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Cash Management: Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure adequate funds are available for operational needs and investment opportunities.

Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.

Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, develop strategies to mitigate risks, and recommend appropriate risk management measures.

Requirements

Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

Ability to meet deadlines

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills

Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
