POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Chief Information Officer, the full-time, exempt Electronic Health Record (EHR) Administrator I is responsible for ensuring that the EHR and interfacing data systems utilized by Honor Community Health (HCH) are well maintained, operate reliably, and provide accurate data required for grant, regulatory, billing, state, and federal requirements.
Essential Functions:
Administration
Assists in the collection, analysis, and reporting of EHR and EHR interfacing system data.
Works with the EHR Administrator II and HCH leadership on grant requirement data gathering and definitions.
Ensures that electronic systems capture data in an effective and useful manner.
Provides technical support related to the EHR and interfacing data systems within the organization, as needed.
Supports healthcare employees by providing technical support, troubleshooting, and identifying opportunities for clinical information system improvement.
Creates and maintains clinician profiles, login credentials, and system access.
Assists with resolving issues involving data integrity and completion.
Assists in system configuration.
Serves as support for the NextGen Success Administrator.
Provides assistance to the NextGen Learning Community Administrator.
Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Back Office Business Processor (BBP)
Assists with developing and revising HCH policies pertaining to the EHR.
Applications
Supports the Azara Administrator, EHR Administrator II, with creating and maintaining clinician profiles, login credentials, and system access.
Assists the Uber Health Administrator, EHR Administrator II, with login credentials and system access.
Serves as backup administrator for the BroadSoft Workflow for EHR Administrator II.
Supports St. Joes Epic Administrator, EHR Administrator II, with login credentials and system access.
Assists the CareMessage Administrator, EHR Administrator II, with login credentials and system access.
Supports the MiBridges Administrator, EHR Administrator II, with login credentials and system access.
EHR Administrator I monitor Help Desk Tickets for internal applications, addresses and resolves issues in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot issues and work with internal staff to resolve issues.
Coordinates fixes with external vendors and provides resolution to internal staff.
Coordinates training opportunities with EHR trainer for staff.
Supports curriculum updates, go-live initiatives and I.T. helpline activities when needed.
Work with external venders to update applications as needed.
Support staff through the updates
Troubleshoot issues and work with venders to resolve issues.
Data Strategy
Supports functions of the organizational data architect for non-financial data.
Assists the UDS Administrator.
Collects and analyzes data and develops reports to assist individuals and committees in quality improvement and utilization management processes.
Provides team resources for data support for grant reporting.
Serves as backup for SQL and SSRS reporting within NextGen.
Enhancement
Assist in assessing, developing, and implementing custom templates and workflows.
Assists in the transition of manual workflows that can be streamlined via other software applications or automated processes.
Ensures that workflows and templates capture critical fields of data to satisfy quality, grant, and value-based measures (i.e., Uniform Data System (UDS), Meaningful Use (MU), and Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH)).
Works with individuals within the organization to establish and continually improve workflows related to the EHR, and collection of billing and reporting data.
Works with staff to collect data for successful submission and payment of performance measures. Assists in compliance with budgetary and program requirements through the effective use of the EHR.
Assists with coordinating and/or performing medical record audits in the EHR, and based on the review, develops, and implements additional training.
Monitors and provides recommendations regarding quality improvement and utilization management processes.
Shares in the management of third-party interface systems (Quest, HIE, NextGenShare, etc.).
Coordinate building custom reports and ensure mapping validation.
Provide team support for new applications and enhancement projects.
Supports the team in the identification of new system enhancements and technical opportunities.
Serve in support for the Michigan Quality Improvement Network (MQIN) Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) administrator.
Assist in the maintenance and optimization of Health Information Exchange (HIE).
Has the ability to understand healthcare software and explain technical concepts to non-technical professionals.
Performs other duties as assigned. During a public health emergency, the employee may be required to perform duties like, but not limited to, those in the job description.
What are we looking for?
Associates degree or 2+ years in equivalent work experience required. I.T.-related certifications will be accepted in lieu of an associate degree.
A minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience and 6 months of experience using an electronic health record system is required. Experience with NextGen preferred.
Experience in computer operating systems, word processing, spreadsheet application, data entry and reporting required.
Ability to modify processes to improve deliverables.
Must adhere to HCH standards regarding HIPAA and other privacy issues.

Monitors internal and external resources to determine if additional information is required for staff to perform tasks.
Informs staff when changes within the EHR occur that affect them, and distributes updated information or develops training, when necessary.
Provides information to peers and leadership in a timely manner to maintain cooperative relationships among staff.
Provides support and encouragement during professional development opportunities, and models confidence that staff will be able to learn to navigate the EHR effectively.
