The CAPNEMO Head Start Program announces a vacancy for a Teacher at our Kirksville site. This is a full-time position with benefits, including retirement.
The Teacher instructs children in activities designed to promote social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, daycare center, or other child development facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude planning daily schedule and weekly plans, supporting the programs' goals of the learning environment, assessment and individualization, health and safety, parent/family involvement, record keeping, and volunteers and community involvement (other duties may be assigned).
Education/Experience: At least one of the following: 1) an associate, baccalaureate, or advanced degree in early childhood education, 2) an associate, baccalaureate, or advanced degree in a field related to early childhood education and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education (15 credit hours) with experience teaching preschool-age children; 3) a baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education with experience teaching preschool-age children.
Must pass a Child and Elder Care Worker screening, provide proof of a yearly physical exam and TB test, and participate in all required training. Must maintain current First Aid and CPR certification. Must maintain a valid Class "F" driver's license, have reliable transportation, and meet Missouri automobile liability minimum requirements.
This is a full-year, full-time position.
