Consultants please conduct a seated interview. Applicants must have 20days experience with Farm / Irrigation / Livestock work. Applicantshired must be able to obtain a valid driver\'s license as driving onpublic roads may be required. Applicants must be able to lift up to 100pounds. Dates of need are (3/15/2024 11/15/2024). This order is for workin Dietrich, Idaho area. Job duties may require split and/or straightshifts depending on irrigation needs, such as 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and4:00 to 6:00 PM. Worker will be required to perform a variety of dutiesrelated to the production of alfalfa, hay, grain, corn, sugar beets andcattle. The majority of the work activities during the overall contractperiod, however, will be related to general farm work/irrigation/cropproduction. General Farm Work will include the followingresponsibilities: maintain, drive, attach and operate farmimplements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilizeand harvest crops; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farmmachinery; remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farmgrounds; remove rocks from field; paint/repair farm structures;replace/repair fencing; perform general cleanup of farm areas; drive,load/unload trucks; operate motor bike or all-terrain vehicle in thecourse of performing duties. Irrigation duties will include thefollowing: Hand lines: connect pipes; check alignment of pipe and adjustfor proper water distribution; attach lines to water supply; turn onpump; turn valves to start flow of water; disassemble lines and carrypipes across fields at specified intervals; move pipes through freshlyirrigated crops and/or plowed fields where mud may be deep at times;lift and carry pipe sections weighing approximately 40 pounds on asustained basis. Wheel lines: start gasoline engines and operatecontrols to move lines across fields at specified intervals. Pivots:push on switch that activates circle sprinkler system; check/lubricatetires on pivots. Flood Irrigation: lift gate in side of floodedirrigation ditch/pipe permitting water to flow into bordered section offield; shovel and pack dirt in low spots of embankment or cut trenchesin high areas to direct water flow; close gate in ditch/pipe whenbordered section is flooded; shovel or hoe soil to clear ditches/furrowsand build embankments to appropriately channel water; mix and applyproper solutions to fill holes/cracks in pipes, ditches, and spillways,and make minor repairs to metal, concrete, and wooden frameworks in pipeand ditch valves and gates. Other Irrigation Duties: remove pipes/wheellines from storage and lay out/place in predetermined patterns infields; lubricate, adjust, repair and replace parts such as sprinklerheads and drive chains using hand tools; observe revolving sprinklersand adjust to ensure proper operation and uniform distribution of water;disassemble, service and store pipes/mainlines/wheel lines afterirrigation season. To meet minimum acceptable performance standards whenirrigating, the worker must, after a 10 day conditioning period, move anaverage of at least 48 40-foot sections of 3-inch pipe or 44 40-footsections of 4-inch pipe per hour under normal working conditions. Dutiesrelated to the production of Livestock will include the following: placemineral blocks; drive equipment to haul/distribute feed/water; herdlivestock; clean livestock corrals/stalls/sheds; maintain records onanimals.
