HEAD OF REGULATORY AFFAIRS - US
Federated Hermes, Inc., one of the nation's largest investment managers with over $704 Billion in managed assets has an opportunity available immediately for a Head of Regulatory Affairs.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Law Degree required with courses in finance, accounting or asset management preferred. Minimum 15 years of experience working in the asset management industry in the US, including significant time working with/for key stakeholders, including the SEC, ICI and peer firms. Experience drafting comment letters for submission both in the US, and internationally, on matters that are global in nature. Experience working with international regulators/policy makers including the European Commission, IOSCO, and FSB a plus. Comprehensive knowledge of asset management industry and the key regulatory challenges faced, including experience with MMFs, ETFs, liquidity and systemic risk matters and various issues associated with ESG in both the US and globally impacting asset managers. Superior negotiation with exceptional analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural and diverse environments Ability to multi-task and manage complex situations with a positive attitude and strong influencing and motivational skills to drive other members of the team MAJOR DUTIES:
Work closely with each of (i) U.S. Federal Agencies (SEC, Fed, Department of Labor), (ii) relevant trade associations (ICI & SIFMA), and (iii) our peer firms to shape regulatory frameworks and influence policy to best position Federated Hermes and our funds under management. Navigate relationships and key engagements with U.S. government agencies, trade associations and peer firms and to monitor any regulatory governmental actions impacting Federated Hermes and our funds under management- aiming to place Federated Hermes in a proactive position to positively impact any potential reforms as they are considered. Work closely with applicable internal stakeholders to manage risks with carefully devised advocacy plans, including taking the lead on responding to various Agency or Trade Association requests for comments. Including managing any external experts who may assist in the preparation of any responses.Monitor and prepare reports and submissions to requests for comments on regulatory matters impacting Federated Hermes' business both in the US and international (as necessary)Help develop and implement US based and global strategies and campaigns to influence or support regulations or initiatives that will benefit Federated Hermes and our funds under managementOrganize and participate in events such as meetings and conferences, serving as point person for relationships with the US based trade associations, ICI and SIFMA.
