  Job Description

  In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

  The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the mechanical certification team of the SGB engineering department, in delivering the certification of new and existing products.

  Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the mechanical certification team and allocate resources as necessary to achieve mechanical certification deliverables for all of Safran Seats GB interiors products on time, in full and to budget.

  • Lead necessary activities internally to deliver continuous improvement of certification processes and procedures, whilst actively pursuing and promoting best practices throughout the business to ensure full and cost effective certification of SGB products.

  • Strive for continuous improvement of certification processes and procedures, actively pursuing and promoting best practices throughout the business.

  • Support internal and external audits to certification processes.

  • Monitor airworthiness authorities' websites for the publication of new or revised regulations, policy memos, airworthiness directives and other communications.

  • Participate in certification harmonisation and integration activities to foster closer working relationships across the wider Safran Seats certification team.

  • Ensure that certification programmes are delivered on time and to the budgeted cost

  Job Requirements

  Qualified to a minimum of degree level in a mechanical, aerospace or structural engineering discipline. Alternatively a HNC/HND

  5 or more years of detailed working experience in the mechanical certification role in the aerospace industry

  Extensive knowledge of CS25, CS-ETSO and EU Commission Regulation 748/2012

  Detailed working experience of working with airframe manufacturer specifications

  Detailed working experience with SAE Aerospace Standards, FAA Advisory Circulars and Policy Statements and EASA Certification Memoranda, GM and AMC relating to the certification or aircraft interiors products
