Job DescriptionThe Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for managing the SEAKR QualityAssurance organization which ensures the Quality System is implemented andcustomer and program specific quality requirements are being met. The Manageris also responsible for management, supervision and mentoring of theHardware and Software Quality Assurance Engineers, Quality EngineeringManagers, Quality Inspection Supervisors, and Quality Control Analyst.This is a full-time exempt position in which the work is performed underlimited supervision by the Vice President of Product Assurance and isevaluated on results obtained.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide back up to the Vice President, Product Assurance and MRB & FRBChair when that person is not availableOverall responsibility for the Quality Assurance DepartmentManages, supervises, hires and mentors members of the Quality AssuranceDepartmentAssesses and reviews quality assurance personnel performanceProvides support, training, mentoring and guidance to quality assurancefunctionsEstablishes department goals based on company priorities and needsLead implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overallquality is continually improving, and that non-conformances are evaluatedfor trends. Identify and implement the need for corrective and preventativeactions.Champions site compliances to AS9100 and customer audits.Communicates, educates, trains and coaches customers, suppliers, andinternal personnel regarding Quality policies, processes and proceduresEvaluates Customer requirements and proposals for compliance to SEAKR bestpractices
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Follow and review SEAKR SEPs and SEWIs as documented in SEAKRsquality system
Follow SEAKR rules and regulations as documented in the SEAKREmployee Handbook and applicable operating procedures
Participates in or prepares a variety of special projects at thedirection of the management of the company
Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory Duties:
Reviews and evaluates performance, recommending salary increasesand/or disciplinary action for direct reports
Responsible for ensuring all department personnel are properlytrained to perform their assigned duties
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of quality systems
Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action toolsuch as CauseMap, Fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.
Knowledge of SEAKR's overall practices, processes, proceduresand instructions
Knowledge of company's operations as they relate to ensuringcustomer quality expectations and requirements are met
Knowledge of a variety of software applications including MS Word,MS Excel and general E-Mail concepts
Ability to successfully operate as part of a multi-functionalteam, including engineering, program management, and manufacturing
Ability to work with various customer representatives on quality andquality control issues
Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
Ability to work on more than one task at a time
Ability to train organization and company employees on qualityfunctions
Ability to review and provide compliance information on customergenerated requirements
Ability to review company engineering documentation to ensurecompany and customer quality requirements are being met
Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Ability to make decisions in accordance with company policies andpractices
