The Position
Grounds Maintenance Workers perform landscape, garden and greenhouse duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, weeding and snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts and hoists.-

This position is with the Department of Administration, State Public Works Division, Buildings and Grounds Section. This position is responsible for ground maintenance at B&G properties in Carson City and Reno. Duties include grounds maintenance, this includes mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, pest control and sprinkler repair and maintenance, snow removal, 24-hour on call duty for snow and ice removal from parking lots and walkways during the winter months to keep state employees and the public safe from snow and ice hazards. This position also provides extra services for office moves and special events for State agencies. This essential position is part of the Emergency Response Team and must respond to all emergency situations, such as snowfall, flooding and after hours call out situations. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
One year of experience performing grounds maintenance work using a variety of tools, equipment and techniques; OR six months of experience as a Grounds Maintenance Worker II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Special Notes
Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid Driver's License. Incumbent is required to work standby/call back. Applicants must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.Special Requirements
