POSITION SUMMARY: The Grants and Research Program Manager is responsible for fundraising support of the American Brain Foundation's (ABF) research program and mission through prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate, foundation, and other institutional funding partners. This position will also provide project-based support to ABF's research programs and will collaborate in the development and execution of large-scale initiatives. ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Grant Writing and Management Generate revenue to support the ABF's mission and research program through timely submission of well-researched, well-written, and well-documented grant and fundraising proposals. Identify and research new corporate, foundation, government, and other institutional funding prospects. Collaborate with fundraising and research teams to develop win-win scenarios for ABF research programs and mission, and funder goals. Collaborate with fundraising team to develop donor solicitation plans, when applicable (e.g. DAFs, family foundations). Develop budget and execute contracts with portfolio of organizations providing mission and research funding to the ABF. Develop and maintain an annual schedule of letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports Institutional Giving Stewardship Manage donor stewardship, including informal and formal grant reports, regular correspondence with key funding representatives, and partnership renewal solicitations for a portfolio of institutional partners. Support strategic donor outreach and communications. Research Program Support Support general communications and outreach for large-scale research initiatives. Coordinate and assist with managing relationships with partnering organizations and entities. Assist with writing and editing internal and external programmatic materials. Provide operational support to ABF research programs as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field is required Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in grant writing with a successful track record is required Minimum of 1 year experience in institutional fundraising is required Experience soliciting funding in medical research sector preferred. Experience soliciting and managing federal grants and subgrants preferred. Budget development experience preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience beyond the minimum requirements may be substituted for qualification requirements Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and record keeping is required Use of fundraising databases such as Raiser's Edge, Virtuous, Salesforce, or similar is required . Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft ord is required Ability to collaborate with other organizations and team members is required Excellent oral and written communication skills are required Need a great team player in a small organization which is frequently "all hands on deck" Familiarity with Virtuous donor database is preferred ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION: FLSA Classification: Exempt Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required - approximately 5% Location: Minneapolis, MN. The Foundation's work environment is hybrid. The position is mostly remote, with a requirement to meet bi-monthly in our Minneapolis office and occasionally more often. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Minneapolis office. Schedule: Some evenings and weekends required Physical Requirements: Standard office setting, with ability to sit for long periods of time, occasional use of stairs; regular use of computer and office equipment, lifting up to 10 lbs.
