Description
Robert Half is pairing with multiple non-profit organizations in San Francisco, needing Grant Accountants for their teams (contract and contract-to-hire). In these onsite roles, you will have a critical role managing and overseeing the financial aspects of their grant-funded projects, as well as maintaining the integrity of their general ledger.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grant-related financial transactions.
Prepare financial reports for grantors in compliance with grant requirements and deadlines.
Coordinate with program managers and other departments to ensure proper allocation of grant funds.
Monitor and track grant expenditures against budgets, alerting management to any variances.
Assist in the preparation and modification of budgets for grant proposals.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and grant-specific financial regulations and guidelines.
Reconcile grant accounts monthly and resolve any discrepancies.
Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Perform regular general ledger tasks, including journal entries, account analysis, and month-end close procedures.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary information and documentation related to grants and general ledger accounts.
Recommend and implement improvements to internal accounting processes and controls.
Stay current with developments, laws, and regulations affecting grant accounting and general ledger management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, experience with grant accounting and general ledger management.
