Responsibilities Responsible for the management of the daily maintenance, repair and playing conditions of the entire area of the golf course facility. This includes all holes, driving range, practice areas, and clubhouse area. Direct and supervise all subordinate maintenance employees in all phases of the daily golf course maintenance to include but not limited to all mowing practices, irrigation, corrective and preventive chemical applications, and fertilization. Ensure development and execution of a preventive maintenance plan to coincide with cyclical cleaning and maintenance of all maintenance vehicles, turf equipment and the maintenance facilities. Maintain regular training and certification of key maintenance employees in conjunction with their work requirements and ensures a safe and clean work environment. Prepare a working budget outlining the annual maintenance requirements to include necessary capital purchases/minor construction items and Integrated Pest Management Plan. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Golf Course Superintendent as described in duties above (management of the daily maintenance, repair and playing conditions of the entire area of the Golf course facility. Experience directing and supervising all subordinate maintenance employees in all phases of the daily golf course maintenance; mowing practices, irrigation, corrective and preventive chemical applications, and fertilization of necessary areas. Ensure development and execution of a preventive maintenance plan with cyclical cleaning and maintenance of all maintenance vehicles and turf equipment). Must be able to obtain a DOD Pest Management Certificate. Working knowledge of chemicals used on insects and for weeds and brush control. PLUS Must have a four-year degree in Agronomy; or, 24 semester hours in major study in botanical grass/plants and three additional years' experience as a Golf Course Superintendent that provided the candidate with knowledge of types of grasses, diseases, chemicals, and golf course maintenance practices that lead to health golf course playing conditions. Highly Preferred: Must possess one (1) year experience of building maintenance. *Transcripts and certification(s) must be submitted at time of application in order to support positive education requirement. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
