Facilities Electrical Engineer DescriptionJoin our dynamic team as a Facilities Electrical Engineer in the WirelessSemiconductor Division (WSD) at Broadcom in Fort Collins, Colorado. Playa pivotal role in managing electrical design, operations, andmaintenance, ensuring the seamless functioning of our wafer fab. Collaboratewith qualified electricians and diverse engineering teams to elevate systemsafety, quality, reliability, and performance.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to applicable safety and regulatory requirements forelectrical design and maintenance
Evaluate and improve existing systems to maintain required capacity,capability and cost of ownership
Analyze failures and develop improvement plans to support >99.9% facilityuptime
Lead in implementation of data projects such as SPC to improvemaintainability, availability and early detection of system issues
Identify and drive short-term systematic hardware upgrades and improvementsleading to safe, stable, and reliable system operation
Plan and develop long-term strategies including capital improvement plans inconsultation with facility management
Provide design andelectricalengineering support on projects including reviewand approval of all electrical designs that support the facility
Effectively collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers,and contractors on newconstruction/renovationprojects
Coordinate and oversee work of external consultants providing CAD support
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, preferably with PEregistration (EIT acceptable)
8+ years experience with emphasis on design, operation and maintenanceelectrical switchgear, distribution equipment, transformers, variablefrequency drives, diesel generators, uninterruptable power, and controlsystems
Knowledge of electrical and life safety requirements as well as latest NECcodes
Exhibit top-tier diagnostic capabilities, especially in troubleshootingequipment malfunctions.
Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, aptitude to work cohesively inteams, and lead projects when necessary.
Showcase a proactive mindset towards identifying potential equipmentchallenges and responding to emergent issues.
Expertise to communicate tactical concepts across a wide range of employeesfrom engineering peers to operational technicians and management.
Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S
Additional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $130,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordancewith relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plandocuments and equity award agreements.
