  Description: The Work

  Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

  As the Systems Support Engineer, you will support NGI Phase 1 development team efforts and work within an Agile environment. Your core tasks will entail the development of electrical component design solutions. Under the direction of senior Electrical Engineers, responsibilities include supporting the development and defense of impact assessments, vetting design solutions through program boards/reviews, participating in proof-of-concept activities, and adhering to program procedures. Accountability and active participation in team scrum meetings and internal/external demos, and

  documenting progress on team dashboards is expected.

  Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree from an accredited college in Engineering and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience and a Masters degree within a STEM field

  • Prior experience with the design, test, and/or integration and deployment of electrical components, electrical ground support equipment (EGSE), or subsystems

  • Understanding and application of company electrical engineering technical standards; demonstrated electrical component design experience and impact assessment / DAR development exposure

  • Technical expertise and working knowledge of other related disciplines

  • Must be able to meet GWS Firewall requirements

  • Ability to travel at least 10%

  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment full time

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security clearance

  Desired Skills:

  • BS degree from an accredited college in Electrical engineering

  • Active Secret Security Clearance, or higher

  • Experience with release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications,

  and test procedures

  • Experience with burndown of nonconformances and/or root cause failure analysis of electronic systems

  • Problem solving skills, not only for technical issues, but also for schedule, cost, resource and other project challenges

  • Mentoring and cross-training team members across a diverse set of technologies and electrical system architectures used to meet customer requirements

  • Experience using analytical software tools, such as MATLAB or Python, to analyze and reduce data to identify key characteristics and trends

  • LabVIEW programming and experience with National Instruments (NI) hardware and software products

  • LabVIEW FPGA development experience

  • DOORS and/or CAMEO exposure

  • Experience with classified test systems or systems subject to cyber security policies and risk management framework (RMF)

  • Experience with telemetry systems

  • Experience with mission critical and safety critical systems, components, connectors, cables, etc.

  • Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Core Standards: MDA-QS-001-MAP, MDA-QS-003-PMAP, MDA Instruction 5000.20-INS (ETR Process)

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1901A, MIL-STD-882, EWR-127, RCC 319, RCC 324, DoDEA 8510.01, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab, ECSSST-50-11C

  • Familiarity with the GMD domain and GMD Launch Support Systems hardware

  Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

  Clearance Level: Secret

  Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

  Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

  Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
