Job Summary
This position supports Power Generation – Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project, Generation Station Projects management team, managing capital projects from conception to completion. Candidates must be initiative-taking, able to work with minimal supervision and have effective communication skills. Candidates must be able to qualify for work in the field including confined space, climbing stairs and ladders, wearing a respirator, Global Wind Organization Training, etc.
• Manages multiple major projects generally between $500K - $50M, (Major Capital improvement projects, new construction, outage support).
• Oversees site safety, environmental, and construction requirements in accordance with Dominion Energy policy and local/state regulations.
• Ensures all elements of the Contractor Safety Program are met and monitors safety on their projects.
• Ensures appropriate permits are obtained; ensures contractor compliance with site, environmental guidelines and obtains advance approval from the site Environmental Compliance Coordinator for materials and chemicals (i.e., concrete, oil, cleaner, lubricant, etc.) prior to allowing material on site.
• Accountable for project success, customer satisfaction, and technical project execution and delivery.
• Manages project risk through collaboration with the project team and customer(s).
• Oversees scoping, planning, estimating, scheduling, resource planning, and procurement activities for all station projects, including integration with non-project work during major outages.
• Ensures all required construction permits are utilized including but not limited to: Digging/Drilling/Cutting (DDC); Welding/Flame; Confined Space; Rigging/Lifting.
• Coordinates engineering resources by working proactively with Power Generation Engineering Supervision and contract external engineering, as necessary to complete projects in a technically responsible fashion.
• Ensures that a comprehensive, current scope of work and division of responsibility are maintained to include all vendor and Dominion scopes.
• Supports the development, implementation, and management of contracts with suppliers and contractors to support material procurement and resources for project development and implementation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
7+ years’ experience in project management.
Experience in offshore wind construction, maritime construction, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
Good knowledge of marine, mechanical, electrical, and controls system.
Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) as required.
Proficient with interpreting technical drawings, documents & management reports.
Ability to lead and manage multiple work fronts.
5+ years of relevant experience with experience in power station, offshore wind power generation start-up, military, or commercial marine background, with supply chain/command center/vessel support experience preferred.
Possess a maritime background with knowledge and experience of national and international maritime regulations relating to maritime safety and environment protection (COLREGS, MARPOL, SOLAS).
Extensive knowledge and understanding of offshore wind industry, generally acquired through considerable related work experience.
Must have the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously over a large geographic territory, and handle stakeholder teams representing different departments and interests.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in an offshore environment including but not limited to, transformers, control systems, electrical/instrumentation, and other balance-of-plant systems.
Must have good technical and cost management skills.
Demonstrated experience in evaluating project work for O&M and Capital classification.
Effective communication, organization, interpersonal, and integration skills are required. Must be able to present detailed project information to Sr. Management and able to answer questions posed by same.
Ability to coordinate processes and provide leadership in a team environment.
Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions including coordinating the resolution of technical problems and implementing changes.
Demonstrated computer skills.
Physical requirements for this position require the ability to bend, squat, occupy crawl spaces, operate machinery, work over open grating, not afraid of heights, and confined space areas.
This position will be exposed to the following work conditions: cold weather, hot weather, dust, grease, loud noise, outdoors, temporary work locations, corporate office work, etc.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Disciplines: Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Marine Engineering
Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE)
Must be able to complete the Global Wind Organizations training.
Must be able to pass a physical and medical requirement to qualify for the Global Wind Organizations training.
