Establishes, controls, and supervises all store activities, including development and implementation of goals and objectives to meet business strategic planning and profitability growth objectivesOversees equipment sales, purchase of inventory and supplies, pricing, service operations for both large and small tools and equipment, repairs, rental operations and customer relations within and for the store.Recruits, interviews, and approves the hiring and wages of new personnel in the store, as well as transfers and promotionsDirectly supervises, trains, develops, and conducts timely performance reviews of the sales staff, service, and rental personnel, and other employees in the performance of their dutiesAssists in preparing budget and sales forecasts for the storeMay occasionally perform the duties of sales personnel and counter service employees as outlined in the job descriptions of those positionsAnalyzes and solves customer problems, complaints, resolving major problems with delinquent accounts and service problemsAdvises management on ways to improve policies, operations, shipments, deliveries, store warehousing, and displaysAssists in negotiating agreements with major suppliers, seeking the best price, discount, terms, and delivery conditionsAssists and advises in overall planning and participation of special sales and promotionsKeeps abreast of industry trends; attends trade shows and conventionsSuggests and helps with the selection of new items; also helps in the disposition of slow-moving items, surplus, and discontinued merchandiseKeeps informed on competitors activities, promotions, pricing, new products, etc.Stays aware of daily gross sales; reviews data processing reportsAssumes overall responsibility for the inside and outside physical appearance and safety conditions inside and outside the store facilityServes as the principal public relations person for the store and works with advertising to showcase products and promotions within the storeMaintains a cooperative relationship with staff, management, and supervisors at all other Acme Tools locationsWorks closely with Human Resources to comply with safety standards and workforce trainingOther duties as assignedNeed-To-Haves:
Bachelors Degree in business field or equivalent experience3+ years of management experience of a mid-to-large sized workforceStrong leadership skills to effectively communicate, coach, train, motivate, and develop employees, as demonstrated through supervisory experienceDetailed knowledge of accounting principles, as well as ability to ready, analyze, and interpret financial reportsKnowledge of retail and equipment operationsGeneral knowledge of purchasing and inventory control practices and applicationsStrong problem-solving, negotiation, oral and written communication, organization, presentation, and computer skills.Ability to lift up to 30lbsValid Drivers License with a clean driving recordAbility to work additional hours and travel as business dictates, including occasional SaturdaysLove-To-Haves:
