The General Manger is responsible for improving efficiency andincreasing departmental profits while managing overall operations at thefacility.
Essential Job Functions
Execute the mission of the company and meet the facility objectives asset forth by the budget and the business plan.
Provide effective leadership and management within your division.
Responsible to develop and work within approved budget for division.Heavy emphasis is placed on achieving division net profit goals.
Execute marketing, sales, and service plans.
Responsible for plant performance goals as defined by the business plan.
Administer and consistently enforce company policy.
Maintain union free environment through the equitable and consistenttreatment of all employees and by promoting open lines of communicationbetween all levels of employees.
Implement standard operating procedures with division and assure theyare being followed to create consistency and standardization in all wedo.
Ensure divisional compliance to internal safety protocols and OSHA rulesand regulations. Introduce programs directed at creating safetyawareness amongst all employees and move us closers to achieving zeroreportable accidents within your division.
Interview, select, hire, develop, train and progressively counsel (ifnecessary) all direct reports in conjunction with HR.
Conduct performance appraisals for all direct reports at least annuallyand establish goals and objectives that are measurable.
Provide documented regular/ongoing performance feedback to all directreports.
Assure division achieves all performance goals as defined in businessplan.
Make recommendations for capital improvements within the plant.Recommendations should include total costs, cost savings, payback,benefits etc.
Facilitate management team meetings (per predetermined schedule) toidentify variances and develop plans to improve performance.
Ensure plant operates in compliance with all Federal, State and Locallaws and company policies.
Responsible for ensuring regulatory agency reporting is completelyaccurately and on schedule.
Responsible for controlling plant turnover.
Ensure mandatory plant training is completed on time.
Responsible for Customer Retention/Customer Service/ CustomerSatisfaction/Customer Contracts.
Responsible for customer invoice accuracy.
Responsible for internal sales growth.
Accountable for A/R timeliness.
See that the division meets all performance goals as defined by thebusiness plan.
Take off hour phone calls.
Participate as a member of the divisions management team.
Negotiate division performance goals with the Regional OperationsManager.
Review and update the job descriptions of the departments managersannually.
Keep professionals abreast of the industry by periodic visits to otherplants, industry meetings, and other pertinent exposure.
