  Job Description Summary

  The GE Catalyst Product Support Staff Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.

  Catalyst Product Support Staff Engineer will provide technical support during GE Catalyst development and certification program, including Engine Manual creation & review, Maintenance Program Development, Entry-Into-Service and overhaul readiness activities, Flight Test and Certification Test Support.

  In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long term program objectives.

  Roles and Responsibilities

  o Execute, with limited guidance, the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product/program requirements.

  o Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements.

  o Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments.

  o Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems. Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams.

  o Assure proper documentation of technical and commercial data generated for the assigned projects and tasks

  o Mentor others in the PSE organization

  o Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments.

  o Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks.

  o Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and commercial program reviews, including reviews with external customers and regulatory agencies.

  o Recommend and drive GE Catalyst product development that incorporates lessons learned from prior programs and meets customer needs.

  o Manage assigned modules/systems (introduce design changes to ICA, identify repair and cost opportunities, leading indicators)

  o Participate in root cause investigations

  o Create technical content of Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA)

  o Support efforts and provide technical guidance for the generation of the manuals within program schedule goals

  o Review Continued Airworthiness Instructions drafted by others

  Required Qualifications

  o Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science

  o Strong technical knowledge of aviation engines architecture and operation

  o Experience in an engineering position relevant to the roles & responsibilities

  Desired Characteristics

  o Experience in aircraft engine, structures or systems maintenance, maintenance planning or product support role

  o Experience working in highly regulated environment and interfacing with regulatory agencies

  o Ability to guide and influence others

  o Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work.

  o Customer facing experience.

  o High level of energy and creative thinking.

  o Complex problem solving skills.

  o Ability to work across the matrix to accomplish goals.
