Robert Half's Full-Time Engagement Professionals are growing once again! We are hiring for a Full-Charge Bookkeeper. This position includes all accounting and general administrative duties and requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
Full cycle Accounts Payable – Code and enter vendor expense invoices, check runs, contact vendors, resolve issues
Review initial contracts for accounting/ billing components: fees, billing instructions, etc
Process accounts receivable client invoices for over 500 active projects and provided job progress reports
Responsible for collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiated with past due accounts, and maintained cash receipts
Sort and post customer payments (cash, checks, credit card, and ACH) via accounting software
Prepare bank deposits
Prepare weekly payroll and monthly commission / incentive calculations
Manage employee time sheets
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Review and process expenses reports
Prepare month end reconciliations: bank, payroll, AR / AP / Inventory/ Inter-company / Fixed assets)
Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense closing journal entries and adjustments
Prepare monthly financial reports for all entities
Assist in month-end and year-end closings and preparation of journal entries and various roll forwards
Analyze and explain variances against budget in general ledger accounts
Prepare W2s and 1099s
Assist with yearly financial planning combining strategic initiatives, budgeting and forecasting Prepared tax computations and returns State & Local Tax, Federal and Payroll
Enhance company efficiencies and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
Support the CEO as needed on the annual financial review /audit as well as third party examinations; (Bank, Workers Compensation, Asset Appraisals and Sales & Use Tax Audits)
Requirements
Be extremely proficient in QuickBooks Pro, Outlook, Excel, and Word
Experience in construction accounting and job costing
Be highly organized, accurate, detail oriented, and able to multi-task
Have excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
Have the ability to work under little or no supervision
Be proactive and have problem solving skills
Be pleasant, outgoing, and professional
Be willing to step outside of the job description as needed
Ability to quickly and efficiently learn new software, forms, and documents
