The Picker for the Recycling Center is responsible for picking up recyclables generated by the mandatory municipal curbside recycling programs.

　　During Route:

　　     Picks up recyclables as scheduled by Solid Waste Authority policy

　　     Sorts acceptable recyclables into proper compartments of truck

　　     Represents the Solid Waste Authority in a professional and courteous manner at all times

　　*      Assists the Driver in the following duties:*

　　     Emptying and cleaning each compartment of truck after obtaining the weight of each material

　　     Removing contamination and cleaning dock area after dumping materials

　　Also performs the following:

　　  Assists in the processing of recyclable materials including, but not limited to, densifying metal containers, preparing materials to be baled, and baling of materials

　　     Assists customers dropping off recyclables and maintains a clean and orderly work area

　　     Inspects company grounds to maintain cleanliness

　　     Performs all other tasks as required by management

　　Essential Functions of Position:

　　           Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds and push weights over 50 pounds

　　     Ability to understand written directions and verbal communications

　　     Ability to withstand weather extremes such as bitter cold, hot temperatures, snow, direct sunlight, and heavy rain
