JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Title Nurse Practitioner orPhysician Assistant - Perioperative Medicine Position Description: TheMedical College of Wisconsin\'s Department of Medicine, Division ofGeneral Internal Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant to provide primary and specialty medical care within definedscope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physician and inaccordance with MCW/FMLH/CHW policies and procedures. The APP providesperioperative care on the inpatient medical consultative service, withopportunity to provide care in the perioperative clinic located inMilwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital. The Advanced Practice Provider(APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who willcontribute to excellence in program administration, patient care,patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. The IdealCandidate will be an Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine APP withagility, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the valuesof diversity and equity, wanting to be part of a thriving and verycollaborative academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin(MCW). Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited toproviding direct patient care in a blended setting. In this role youwill, Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosisand treatment of conditions requiring medical intervention in a blendedenvironment as a member of the Perioperative Services.Writes accurateand timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission, transfer,and discharge orders. Order, perform, and interpret screening anddiagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates anddocuments information. Privileged to perform procedures beyond core asidentified by the Perioperative Services. Facilitates and communicateswith patient, family, and staff to promote continuity of care across thecontinuum of care. Attend required training and meets key regulatoryrequirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, andthe Join Commission. Evaluates quality outcomes for the patientsreceiving care of this team through participation in the development ofquality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Acquires information on themost current development and trends in the Physician Assistant fieldand/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs,in-services, professional associates, and current literature.Participates in quality assurance activities and clinical trials.
