Position Summary: Responsible, under the direction of the Sheriff, for the enforcement of the laws of the State of Minnesota which include,however; not limited to, the apprehension of criminals, prevention of criminal activity and protection of property and life. Sheriff s Deputies also assist area police, fire and ambulance services when requested or directed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the safety and well-being of all residents in Brown County. Patrol the County, enforce traffic laws, and maintain positive law enforcement presence throughout the county. Prevent and detect commission of crimes - constantly being aware of potential crimes/public safety hazards and taking appropriate action as needed. Answer all calls and complaints, investigate crimes, motor vehicle accidents, boat, snowmobile, ATV, farm, and industrial accidents; collect evidence, prepare reports, prioritize assignments. Assist local police, fire, and ambulance services. Administer first aid. Serve court orders, documents, arrest and/or search warrants. Transport criminals and mentally ill persons. Predatory Offender Registration Checks. Entry hourly wage range of $29.54 to $33.12, DOQ.
