About the Role

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Mid-Level Full Stack Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining high-quality applications using a variety of technologies, including Smalltalk, Java, JavaScript, and incorporating AI/ML principles. You will be responsible for writing secure, performant, and maintainable code that meets the highest standards of quality.

Primary Responsibilities

Design, develop, and support secure and scalable software solutions using Smalltalk, Java and related technologiesParticipate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from planning and design to testing, deployment, and maintenanceWork closely with the product management team to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical specificationsWork directly with customers to manage service calls, document interactions, and escalate issues as neededContribute to the development of technical documentation, user guides, and training materialsContinuously learn and adapt by staying informed about software engineering best practices, emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies relevant to our businessRequirements

Minimum

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience3+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack DeveloperProven track record of developing and maintaining large-scale software applicationsMust be able to successfully complete a clean background check Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environmentStrong understanding of software development life cycles, agile methodologies, and remote collaboration toolsStrong proficiency in object-oriented programming (emphasis on Smalltalk and Java)Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js)Experience with relational databases (including DB2 and MS SQL Server)Strong and effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersMust possess a strong customer service focus, and be able to effectively interact and support clients via video callsBe willing to participate in an on-call rotation to provide support for production systemsMust reside within and be legally authorized to work in the United States due to compliance and operational requirementsPreferred Skills

Experience with the VAST Platform (VA Smalltalk) preferredExperience with modern AI/ML concepts and frameworksFamiliarity with other programming languages and technologies (e.g., Python, Rust, C#, C/C++, Go)Experience with middleware, API development, analytics, and log aggregation (IBM MQ, MQTT, RESTful, SOAP)Experience working in the software industry, particularly in areas relevant to Instantiations' customer base (finance, insurance, healthcare, etc.)Previous experience working fully remote*Why you would want to join our team at Instantiations
