This short-term contract / temporary to hire Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Golden, Colorado. We are looking for people who can establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements.
What you get to do every day
Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time
Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows
Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents
Maintaining knowledge of current federal, state, and local legal requirements, ensuring adherence to them, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed
Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers Requirements - Experience with payroll preferred
Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
Prior experience with Excel, Quickbooks, and PeachtreeAbility to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request
A thorough knowledge of accrual and cash basis of accounting
Bookkeeping experience desired
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
Deep understanding of Office Administration
Proven knowledge of Full Charge Bookkeeping
Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
Experience with full charge bookkeeping
Strong time management and organizational skills
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field
