This role can be done remotely but requires travel to the site in St Louis. The position starts as a 10-12 month contract and offers a competitive pay rate and travel reimbursement.
This role involves the design and development of surgical equipment control algorithms and FPGA implementations controlling mechanical, fluidic, electronic and / or user interface.
Job Overview
Assume a leadership role in the generation of product requirements documentation and design specifications.
Design, implement, document major systems and subsystems in new product designs. Ensure proper design documentation, and verification testing is performed.
Develop algorithms and control state machines in VHDL / Verilog for inclusion within embedded FPGA devices.
Oversee and coordinate efforts of others (internal and external) to assure appropriate validation testing and field observation studies are performed.
Participate as a technical leader in project planning activities and project design reviews.
Required Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Equivalent experience may be considered
Preferred Education:
Advanced technical degree preferred.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in designing with a register transfer language (VHDL / Verilog)
Required Experience:
At least five years’ experience in design and development.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Altera / Intel FPGA family, specifically the MAX10 series.
