Our cosmetic client is seeking a passionate and results-driven West Coast Formulation Manager! Our business is expanding, and we aim to provide strong technical support for our customers in the Cosmetic Industry.
Title: Formulation Lab Manager
Location: Los Angeles
Salary: $110,000-150,000
Job Duties:
Implement the overall global priorities and formulation/application strategies regionally
Provide technical support to West Coast sales managers and customers (i.e. cosmetic manufacturers, brands, and consultants) by:
o Ensuring formulation assistance for those customers, being the technical contact for any question related to the formulation of ingredients
o Organizing and performing hands-on lab demonstrations in customers’ labs or in facilities on a weekly basis and as needed
o Working in close collaboration with the Regional Marketing Team to organize promotional events (exhibitions, webinars, technical conference, seminars, etc.) and provide lab support, which may include presentations and prototype development.
o Ensuring technical research for NOAM market focusing on the West Coast region
o Identifying and working on new prototypes developments which illustrate Cosmetics' range of raw materials
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years proven track record experience in a cosmetic formulation laboratory with expertise in skin care (including sun care); experience in hair care, make-up, and toiletries a plus.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific field, preferably chemistry or cosmetic science related from an ACS accredited school.
Hands-on formulating experience necessary, especially in emulsion technologies.
Experience in scaling up formulas is a strong asset.
Passionate and knowledgeable about cosmetic products with a very good knowledge of trends and Indie Brands.
Good communication skills and the ability to speak in front of an audience: diplomatic and able to adapt to various regional environments in NOAM.
