Their dedicated team of environmental professionals works tirelessly to safeguard these lands from wildfires, destructive insects, and invasive ecological diseases. Additionally, they also focus on preserving native plants and ensuring sustainable timber harvesting.

  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an intern in this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of forest management and recreation projects. Through this program, you will develop skills in using a global positioning system (GPS) survey unit and analyzing maps to gather information on state forest land. you will also be involved in various projects, including gate and lock reconciliation, regeneration, invasive species control, and timber management, providing you with valuable experience in the field.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time internship that will last from 5/1/2024 through 8/30/2024.Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable Majors:Forestry/Forest ScienceResource ManagementRecreation ManagementAn approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.Freshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
