  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Forest Technician, you provide technical support and assistance for forestry staff responsible for the sustainability of the forest resource on the Elk State Forest. Technical support and assistance is provided in a manner consistent with the State Forest Resource Management Plan. You also assist in forest protection efforts to promote forest stewardship and wise utilization of the forest resource and to assist in the protection and management of native flora.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time, seasonal employment, 37.5-hour work week.Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Wednesday, with a 30-minute lunch; 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch, off Friday, Saturday, Sunday.Travel may be required for training.Overtime may be required in emergency situations.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Please check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:An associate's degree in forest technology; orCompletion of equivalent formal education in forestry.Conditions of Employment:This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.Other Requirements:is currently waived for this title.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
