The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing direction to the team based in Monks Corner, SC, who will troubleshoot complex problems, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and general servicing and of mechanical HVAC systems. Specific systems may include: electronic/pneumatic, environmental controls, fan-powered boxes, and auxiliary equipment (various pumps, heat exchangers, air compressors, etc. Work with BAS controls, chiller operations, pump operations, water treatment programs, air handler units, and vavs. Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site, customer interface.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Practical working experience in the plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC and/or mechanical equipment service industry
Leads the team that performs on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation.
Responsible to ensure all work orders generated through the computerized maintenance management system are completed and corrective action is accomplished properly.
Provides solutions to very complex problems either through troubleshooting the systems or providing support to others on how to resolve problems.
May provide technical support for field personnel.
Drives labor and material growth through opportunity identification at the point of service.
Acts as a trusted advisor with our customers and represents Batchelor & Kimball to customers to achieve customer satisfaction.
Be a role model to the frontline field staff and demonstrate the values and cultures of Batchelor & Kimball.
Schedule work to be accomplished; establish and adjust work schedules to ensure adequate shift coverage.
Ensures that all service documentation is completed properly.
Must be able to read blueprints and as-built drawings.
Works in a team-based environment to share information and provide direction to the team while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Must consider safety is the #1 priority and always provides an environment where all work in a safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Flexibility to work overtime, on-call and weekends, as required
Supervisory / Budgetary / External communications responsibility
Direct responsibility for leading the service technician crew.
This role is the face of Batchelor & Kimball to our customers. This position will require sound communication skills and be able to deliver a sense of comfort, reliability, and can- do attitude to our end users. It will be important to present a clean and organized demeanor.
Communicate complex terms to external and internal customers and be able to check for understanding.
Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements (minimum competencies required for job performance)
Must be able to read blueprints and as-built drawings.
Be able to solve problems
Prior work experience and educational requirements
Will require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
10 years of experience in the HVAC.
Work requires prior experience in directing or leading the work of others.
Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Batchelor & Kimball to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.

The physical demands are those associated with working in the field
Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
