*At least 5 years experience in the underground sewer and water construction trade, more is preferred.
*At least 2 years experience running a crew installing water and sewer.
*Will be responsible for running a crew of 3 to 4 guys installing water and sewer throughout Central Iowa.
*Supervisor or Foreman Experience
Description:
Expected to operate excavators, dozers, loaders, etc.
Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary, supply, delivery, and personnel.
Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
Will be operating 20% of the time; majority of the time will be overseeing the crew.
The crew consists of: pipe layer, top man, heavy equipment operator
Emphasizing safe use of machinery and equipment
Ability to give clear directions and communicate effectively
Knowledge in all wet utilities including sewer, water, storm drain, and irrigation
Knowledge of equipment operation
Ability to climb in and out of trenches, manholes, and other confined work areas.
Climb ladders, stairs and uneven terrain
Work Environment:
Underground utility services to government agencies, cities, municipalities, and developers in Central Iowa.
They support deep sewer and underground utilities business.
Projects range from 5 feet deep to 40 feet deep. Operate 100% within OSHA guidelines; use trench boxes etc.
Dress Code: Jeans, T-shirt (No Sleeveless), Steel toe Shoes.
PPE: Client provides Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Vest, Gloves.
Hours: 7am-6pm Monday - Friday, do not work weekends but must be open to working heavy overtime during the week if needed.
Work is local to Ames and Des Moines--shop is in Nevada. Must be able to commute an hour radius of Des Moines.
