The Food Scientist III is responsible for developing the product and theprocess for innovation, renovation, and value improvement projects. Thisposition will involve hands-on bench work, pilot plant test work,conducting industrial tests in plants, leading industrial productlaunches, evaluation of analytical measurements, and the management ofR&D tasks to ensure stage gate progression. The candidate must be able torepresent R&D interests to multiple internal cross-functional partners andexternal partners during all projects.

Develop innovative and renovated formulations aligning with Brand,Product, and Consumer Insights, Regulatory, Quality and Food Safety,and Project requirements.Independently manage medium to high technical complexity projects by stagegate needs.Act as the R&D representative within project teams, ensuring comprehensivefollow-up and leveraging appropriate R&D software tools.Collaborate with Ingredient Suppliers and external partners, offeringtechnical guidance across diverse product development programs.Analyze, design, and execute trials; organize tasting sessions withcross-functional teams to draw conclusions and make recommendations.Participate in the design of consumer tests, coordinate sample production,and ensure product quality for consumer testing.Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing departments to facilitate thecommercialization of new products.Prepare all specifications related to the development and commercialization ofa product line; ensure documentation is shared with cross-functionalpartners before start-up.Contribute to top and bottom-line growth by identifying an innovation andproductivity project pipeline.Manage a specific area of expertise within R&D, ensuring best practicesare disseminated across the broader R&D organization.Network with the global R&D community to share and adopt best practices.This position will be based in Louisville, CO. The base compensation rangefor this position is $90,000-113,000commensurate with experience. Requirements:
5-10 years of industrial experience with a bachelor's degree (3 to 5 yearswith a Master's Degree) in Food Science or a related field.Proven track record of successful product launches, including a strongbackground in commercialization.Strong project management and organizational skills.Comprehensive understanding of the functionality of various food ingredients.Preferred background in the fermented food category.Experience in plant-based food products or ingredients.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work cross-functionally and mentor junior staff.Proficient in computer skills.Flexibility to travel (up to 25%).
