　　Food Chemistry Analyst I - Lake Zurich, IL - Position paying to $24.00 per hour depending on experience.

　　DESCRIPTION:

　　· Perform analyses on samples and complex sample preparation.

　　· Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.

　　· Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data

　　· Approve data generated (Level I validation - for which the analyst has been trained and validated).

　　· Understand and troubleshoot analyses.

　　· Provide input to corrective action procedures.

　　· Ensure deadlines are met

　　· Adheres to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy.

　　· Supports and complies with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program.

　　· Ensure that instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained.

　　· Use summary reports to plan and organize work

　　· Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations

　　· Keep their work area clean, neat and organized

　　· Contribute to daily and weekly planning

　　· Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor

　　QUALIFICATIONS

　　[Minimum Requirements]:

　　· Minimum of a four year degree in Chemistry or Biology and zero to one year of experience in an analytical food testing laboratory.

　　· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

　　· Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.

　　· Delivers timely results and takes part in occasional project work.

　　· Ability to accurately follow Standard operating Procedures (SOP’s) and instructions.

　　· Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook, and a "can-do" attitude.

　　[Preferred]:

　　· Experience in one or more of the following laboratory techniques: Crude fat, Metals by flame AA, Protein by LECO.
