JOB REQUIREMENTS: Set up, operate, or tend paper goods machines thatperform a variety of functions, such as converting, sawing, corrugating,banding, wrapping, boxing, stitching, forming, or sealing paper orpaperboard sheets into products. This position is responsible for set-upand maintaining folder/gluer equipment. The ideal candidate will beresponsible for reading and understanding work orders/job ticket todetermine setup specifications and instructions. This person will beresponsible for making manual adjustments to account for different foldand glue patterns based on the job specifications. They will load,observe, and monitor machine operations: including the glue system andother raw materials to ensure appropriate levels. A few moreresponsibilities include routine standing, bending, lifting and goodmanual dexterity skills. Adjust guide assemblies, forming bars, andfolding mechanisms according to specifications, using hand tools. Cutproducts to specified dimensions, using hand or power cutters.Disassemble machines to maintain, repair, or replace broken or wornparts, using hand or power tools. Examine completed work to detectdefects and verify conformance to work orders, and adjust machinery asnecessary to correct production problems. Fill glue and paraffinreservoirs, and position rollers to dispense glue onto paperboard.Install attachments to machines for gluing, folding, printing, orcutting. Lift tote boxes of finished cartons, and dump cartons into feedhoppers. Load automatic stapling mechanisms. Measure, space, and set sawblades, cutters, and perforators, according to product specifications.Monitor finished cartons as they drop from forming machines intorotating hoppers and into gravity feed chutes to prevent jamming.Observe operation of various machines to detect and correct machinemalfunctions such as improper forming, glue flow, or pasteboard tension.Place rolls of paper or cardboard on machine feed tracks, and threadpaper through gluing, coating, and slitting rollers. Remove finishedcores, and stack or place them on conveyors for transfer to other workareas. Stamp products with information such as dates, using hand stampsor automatic stamping devices. Start machines and move controls toregulate tension on pressure rolls, to synchronize speed of machinecomponents, and to adjust temperatures of glue or paraffin. *****OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: For this position, a High SchoolDiploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Along with being mechanicallyinclined. Looking for an Individual who can use Logic and criticalthinking to analyze a situation. Must be able to read a ruler and othermeasuring devices and have good basic math skills. Additionalrequirement preferred (But will train.) include prior folder gluerexperience.
